
Ivo Groen Takes the Helm at BAIC Design Europe, Expanding BAIC’s Global Design Footprint

Officially Joins BAIC Design Europe
as Design Director of BAIC Design Europe
On January 7th, 2026, BAIC Design officially announced that Mr. Ivo Groen, a veteran Dutch automotive designer with extensive experience, had joined BAIC Design, serving as Design Director of BAIC Design Europe. Located in Turin, Italy, known as the “European capital of automotive design,” the center will focus on concept vehicle development and forward-looking design research, working closely with BAIC’s main design center in Beijing under a dual-center model.

Mr. Groen began his automotive design career at PSA Group in France in 1990. He has led and participated in the design of numerous key models, including the Peugeot 107, DS 7 Crossback SUV, and DS 9 executive sedan, helping reshape the brands’ visual identities.
In 2021, he joined Geely Design as Creative Design Director of Lynk & Co, providing creative direction for models such as the Lynk & Co 08 and helping establish the brand’s design language. He also gained extensive experience in collaboration between design teams in China and Europe.

In the future, with his outstanding design expertise and rich international experience, Mr. Ivo Groen will guide BAIC Design in exploring new directions and creating more excellent products that combine aesthetic value with innovative technology for customers worldwide.
