BAIC X-Line Launches in Egypt | BAIC INTL Opens a New Chapter in North Africa
BAIC INTL, together with its Egyptian strategic partners EIM Group and ALKAN Automotive, held the launch event for the BAIC X-Line series at the ESCA Hotel in New Giza, Cairo. The launch marks the official arrival of the new product matrix featuring BAIC's self-developed e-DRIVE technology in the Egyptian market, opening a new chapter for BAIC INTL in Egypt's new energy sector.
Under the theme "Performance meets Intelligence," the two REHEV SUVs, X55e and X7e, made their grand debut, covering diverse mobility scenarios such as urban commuting, family long-distance travel, and long-haul journeys. Mainstream Egyptian automotive media, senior industry guests, and channel partners gathered on site to witness this milestone moment.
At 8 p.m. local time, the launch event officially began with a countdown video. The CEO and COO of the local partner delivered speeches successively, congratulating the grand launch of the BAIC X-Line series and expressing their commitment to long-term collaboration with BAIC INTL in the Egyptian market, continuously introducing reliable, technology-leading mobility products and jointly expanding the boundaries of Egypt's new energy vehicle development. Subsequently, the head of BAIC INTL's Egyptian sales company delivered a speech, outlining BAIC INTL's long-term layout in Egypt and its plan to resonate with Egypt's national development vision. The two sides will deepen strategic cooperation, improve channel, after-sales, and localized industrial layouts, and provide Egyptian consumers with better mobility choices.
Taymour, General Manager of the BAIC Egypt, took the stage to share the R&D philosophy of the X-Line series and the advantages of e-DRIVE range-extender technology: driven by an electric motor and recharged by an internal combustion engine, it requires no public charging piles and delivers a combined range of over 1,000 km, addressing the pain point of limited charging infrastructure in Egypt. The two models precisely match differentiated family needs: the X55e is positioned as an urban family range-extender SUV, balancing agile driving with daily practicality; the X7e is a large-size family range-extender SUV, offering ample space and relaxed range, specifically designed for multi-member long-distance travel.
Afterwards, the launch event created an immersive exhibition space. Surrounded by light and shadow, guests could closely appreciate the body design, interior craftsmanship, and intelligent cockpit configurations, experiencing firsthand the craftsmanship and technological quality of BAIC's new energy products. At the end of the event, BAIC INTL and representatives from various parties took the stage for a group photo.
