Malaysian Mainstream Media Visit BAIC Group: Three Days to Understand China's Smart Manufacturing, BAIC Accelerates Entry into Malaysia
From September 16 to 18, 2026, a delegation of mainstream Malaysian automotive media visited BAIC Group for a three-day in-depth tour. The delegation visited the BAIC Magna Zhenjiang Plant, BAIC Off-Road Vehicle Plant, BAIC Headquarters, and BAIC BluePark. They observed the entire vehicle manufacturing process, test-drove multiple models, and experienced autonomous driving technology firsthand. BAIC INTL Deputy General Manager Qi Xiaohui and Vice President Sun Zhiyong attended the event. They held in-depth exchanges with media representatives on the BAIC brand's development prospects in the Malaysian market.

Exploring BAIC Magna Smart Factory

On September 17, the delegation visited BAIC Magna Zhenjiang Plant, the core stop of the tour. After a welcome and briefing, media representatives toured the stamping, welding and assembly shops, observing the full process from components to finished vehicles. Highly automated lines, lean management and strict quality control left a strong impression of BAIC's manufacturing strength. They then joined a model briefing and test drive, experiencing the full ARCFOX lineup's comfort, handling and all-scenario capability on a professional track.

Exploring the Off-Road Base

On September 18, the delegation visited the BAIC Off-Road Vehicle Plant, touring its workshops to learn about the manufacturing process from components to finished vehicles. After a model briefing and test drive, media representatives watched an off-road performance demonstration, where the vehicles' passability and recovery capability on complex terrain drew repeated praise.

Exploring BAIC Headquarters and BAIC BluePark

After the off-road plant, the delegation toured BAIC Headquarters' cultural exhibition hall and attended a technology briefing on its history, independent R&D system and forward-looking layout. In the afternoon, they visited BAIC BluePark and the BAIC New Energy headquarters showroom to learn about its latest new energy and intelligent achievements. At the technology experience area, the atmosphere was lively; at the wireless charging display, several media representatives bent down to examine the ground charging panel, one giving a thumbs-up and exclaiming, "This is what an EV experience should be like!"

The ARCFOX GT supercar became the crowd favorite. Born at BAIC's high-performance R&D center in Spain, this all-electric supercar's track version delivers 1,000 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.59 seconds, and its carbon-ceramic braking system brings it to a stop from 100 km/h in under 30 meters. Representatives gathered around to photograph its scissor doors and active rear spoiler; upon hearing the acceleration figures, a gasp of amazement rippled through the crowd.
The Robotaxi driverless experience session also drew a crowd. The new-generation driverless vehicle built on the ARCFOX T5 is equipped with Pony.ai's seventh-generation autonomous driving system. After the ride, one representative said the vehicle's acceleration and deceleration planning was "more composed than expected," and its performance in complex scenarios inspired greater confidence in BAIC's future autonomous driving roadmap.

OUTLOOK
The Malaysian media China tour is a key part of BAIC's efforts to deepen its presence in the Malaysian market. In recent years, BAIC INTL has steadily advanced its localization strategy in Malaysia. ARCFOX has also included Malaysia among its global target markets and plans to introduce more electric models to further enrich its product lineup.

Media representatives on the tour said the on-site visits gave them a new understanding of BAIC's manufacturing processes, R&D strength, and technological innovation, and made them more confident about the brand's prospects in Malaysia. BAIC will use this media exchange as an opportunity to further deepen communication and ties with the Malaysian market and jointly open a new chapter in the brand's globalization.
