BAIC International Launches B30 in South Africa, Marking New Chapter in Right-Hand Drive Markets

On November 10, 2025, BAIC International unveiled its all-new B30 model in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event welcomed over 260 distinguished guests from government, business, media, and dealer networks. Notable attendees included Wu Peng, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, Counselor Liu Yu, Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane, Deputy Premier Nonqubela Pieters, Zulu Prince and Princess, and representatives from Chinese enterprises.

As a significant milestone in BAIC International’s comprehensive upgrade of its hybrid and fuel product portfolio for right-hand drive markets, the B30 launch not only showcases the brand’s new strategic positioning in South Africa but also demonstrates BAIC International’s solid progress in advancing its localization strategy. Ambassador Wu Peng highly commended BAIC’s active role in promoting China-South Africa economic and trade cooperation, stating, “the grand launch of the B30 model represents not only BAIC’s determination to expand new vehicle offerings in the South African market, but also serves as a testament to the fruitful results of investment cooperation between our two nations”.

Currently, the B30 has officially rolled off the production line at BAIC’s South African CKD facility. In the future, more models will achieve localized production, bringing high-quality, cost-effective products to South African consumers while promoting local manufacturing and employment growth.

Product Makes Stunning Debut: On-Site and Digital Engagement Create Buzz

On the morning of the event, journalists from over 40 South African mainstream media outlets experienced the B30 test drive firsthand, covering routes that included urban roads and off-road unpaved sections. Media representatives universally praised the B30’s outstanding performance in comfort, intelligence, and handling.

During the official launch segment, accompanied by a spectacular interplay of lights and music, the all-new B30 made its stunning debut to enthusiastic applause. Mr. Geza, CFO of BAIC South Africa, announced the South African market pricing and customer policies, generating tremendous excitement among attendees.

 

Qi Xiaohui, Deputy General Manager of BAIC International, attended the event. Three of the first B30 owners shared their trust and expectations for the BAIC brand and products. Qi Xiaohui presented them with car keys and limited-edition B30 model cars, symbolizing the shared growth and mutual trust between BAIC and its customers.

The launch event was simultaneously livestreamed online, attracting a large local audience with highly engaged commentary, further amplifying the launch’s reach and brand influence.
