BAIC Selected as One of Beijing’s Top Ten ESG Cases Among Municipal State-Owned Enterprises

To promote regional coordinated development and showcase the ESG achievements of state-owned enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the “ESG China · Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei State-Owned Enterprise Social Responsibility Release Conference,” co-hosted by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commissions (SASAC) of the three regions, was held in Tianjin on September 29. XIE Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the BAIC Group Party Committee and Vice President, was invited to attend the event and deliver a speech, sharing BAIC Group’s explorations and insights in ESG practices. At the conference, BAIC Motor Corporation Limited was selected as one of the “Top Ten ESG Cases” among Beijing municipal state-owned enterprises.
Driven by Technological Innovation
Creating User-Oriented Products
As one of the leading enterprises in China’s automotive industry, BAIC Group places providing excellent products and services at the core of fulfilling its economic responsibilities. The Group focuses on the two strategic directions of new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, aiming to build a self-controlled core technology system and create a competitive advantage for “Technological BAIC.”

Since the start of the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, BAIC’s cumulative R&D investment has exceeded RMB 44.7 billion, and it has won the First Prize of the China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award seven times. Recently, an electric vehicle drive motor rotor independently developed by Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., BAIC’s core components platform, successfully achieved an ultra-high speed of 55,000 rpm, marking significant breakthrough in e-drive technology. This achievement injects new innovation-driven momentum into the development of the new energy vehicle industry in the region.
Implementing the Dual-Carbon Strategy
Upgrading the Green, Low-Carbon Eco-Industrial Chain
BAIC Group views “carbon reduction” as a core commitment to both the environment and the industry. From enhancing product energy efficiency to upgrading green logistics systems, from setting green procurement standards for raw materials to applying low-carbon manufacturing processes, BAIC is systematically building the green value chain of the automotive industry from a “full life cycle” perspective.

Currently, BAIC operates 23 national-level green factories. Among them, the STELATO Super Factory has achieved zero emissions of heavy metals and volatile organic compounds, with a 100% exhaust gas treatment rate, setting a new environmental benchmark for the industry.
In terms of social responsibility, BAIC initiated the “Hotan Oasis” public welfare project. For every self-owned brand vehicle sold in Xinjiang, BAIC donates RMB 9.9 to the local desertification control fund, supporting the ecological improvement of the Hotan region and contributing to greening efforts on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert.
Additionally, BAIC has partnered with the China Beijing Green Exchange to establish a carbon emission reduction accounting system for new energy vehicles. Soon, BAIC vehicle owners will be able to obtain an officially certified “carbon passport,” a pioneering initiative in the automotive industry.
From Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to the Nation
Always in Step with National Development
In the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, BAIC Group, as the core enterprise of the industrial chain, is actively shaping the industrial ecosystem. It has over 210 member companies and more than 600 major supporting suppliers, ranking first among the “Top 100 Manufacturing Enterprises in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei” and continues to play a leading role in the region’s industrial development.
In response to the Western Development Initiative, BAIC, with its passenger and commercial vehicles that meet “Capital Quality” standards, is actively participating in local projects such as the green transformation of public transportation, the enhancement of the cultural and tourism industries, and the coordination of green infrastructure and logistics, injecting momentum into regional development.

Through the “BAIC, Go Forward with Love” public welfare initiative, BAIC has supported over 740 ethnic minority students in western regions, including Ganzi in Sichuan Province, Lhasa in Xizang Autonomous Region, Hotan in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and Yushu in Qinghai Province, helping them achieve their educational aspirations.
In various national major events, such as the National Two Sessions, the two Olympics in Beijing, and the 2025 China Victory Day Parade on September 3rd, BAIC has provided vehicle support services, showcasing the solid strength of China’s automotive manufacturing industry and the responsibility of a national brand with reliable products and professional service.
Adhering to a People-Oriented Approach
Building a Modern, Open, and Shared State-Owned Enterprise

Employees are the most valuable asset of the enterprise. BAIC has introduced a variety of projects, including the “Three-Year Talent Action Project,” the “890 Talents Training Project,” the “Youth Talents Further Cultivation Action,” and the “Swift Project,” all aimed at providing every employee with a broad career platform, a warm working environment, and valuable growth opportunities.
To the public, BAIC actively participates in the “Capital State-Owned Enterprise Open Day” event, offering open access to key R&D and manufacturing bases such as the BAIC R&D Base, the STELATO Super Factory, the BAIC New Energy Park, and more. These activities not only enrich the cultural life of citizens but also highlight BAIC’s technological strength and open image as a modern enterprise.

ESG is not an “option” for enterprises, but an essential responsibility. Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, BAIC Group has sold over 7 million vehicles, generating an output value of RMB 1.28 trillion in the Beijing region, continuously providing solid support for regional economic development, and fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities through practical actions.
Looking ahead, BAIC will focus on building a modern enterprise that leads in innovation, operates with high efficiency, and is full of vitality. BAIC will strengthen its self-owned brands and comprehensively improve its marketization, collectivization, internationalization, digitalization, and low-carbonization efforts. It aims to achieve the objectives of the “Three-Year Leap Action” and build a “Centennial BAIC” that is worthy of the trust of users, shareholders, employees, and society as a whole, contributing to the high-quality development of the region.
