
BAIC and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Usher in a New Era of Green Transportation: Ceremony Marks Successful Delivery of First Batch of 1,000 EU5 Electric Taxis
Serves as another testament to the successful collaboration between China
and Tajikistan within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative
On July 15, 2024, under the grand vision of a shared future between China and Tajikistan, jointly crafted by President Xi Jinping and Tajik President Rahmon, a significant ceremony took place at the BAIC Zhuzhou factory. The event, aimed at promoting green transportation in Dushanbe, marked the delivery of the first batch of 1,000 brand-new BAIC EU5 vehicles to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where they will serve as taxis for local residents. This milestone event signifies a solid step forward in the collaboration between BAIC, a well-established Chinese automotive brand, and Tajikistan. It also stands as another testament to the fruitful cooperation between China and Tajikistan under the Belt and Road Initiative.



Yang Nanhua, General Manager of BAIC, gave a speech detailing BAIC’s
achievements in the new energy vehicle sector and outlining the prospects
for future collaboration. He expressed BAIC’s commitment to working
hand in hand with Tajik partners to promote green mobility and support
Tajikistan in achieving its sustainable development goals.

Saidzoda Firdavs, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, spoke highly of the friendly relations and collaborative achievements between China and Tajikistan. He expressed great appreciation for the advanced electric taxis provided by BAIC and looked forward to deeper cooperation between the two sides in more areas. The Deputy Mayor emphasized their shared goal of promoting green development not only in Dushanbe but throughout Tajikistan as a whole.

As the ceremony progressed, an exciting moment arrived. The big screen displayed a video of the EU5 electric taxi slowly rolling off the production line. Subsequently, a brand-new EU5 vehicle drove onto the center stage, becoming the focal point of everyone’s attention. Yang Nanhua, the General Manager of BAIC, solemnly handed over the keys of the EU5 to Zafar Qodirov, the General Manager of Olucha Taxi Company in Tajikistan. This symbolic gesture marked the official integration of these eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and high-performance electric taxis into Dushanbe’s transportation system, offering citizens a more convenient and comfortable green travel option.




Yury Moshuroy, the General Manager of VECTOP Holding in Tajikistan said: “We’re committed to giving our all to ensure top-notch vehicleoperations and service. Our goal is to maximize the potential of the EU5 electric taxis in Dushanbe, helping to drive the city’s green development forward.”

After the vehicle handover ceremony, the attending guests had the opportunity to personally experience test rides and drives in the KAOLA intelligent family SUV and the EU5 electric taxi. This hands-on experience allowed them to directly appreciate the outstanding performance and intelligent driving features of BAIC’s new energy vehicles.
Finally, guided by BAIC factory representatives, the guests toured the
production lines, gaining firsthand insight into BAIC’s manufacturing
capabilities. They explored different departments such as the Design
Division and the Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, gaining insights
into BAIC's design philosophy, insights and values.



Additionally, they had the opportunity to witness the battery swap
stations and Beijing Yinjian Taxi Company in action, observing numerous
EU5 vehicles seamlessly swapping out their batteries for a more efficient
and sustainable drive. The visit provided valuable knowledge and inspiration
for all the attendees, further solidifying the collaboration and partnership
between Tajikistan and BAIC.





This comprehensive tour allowed them to delve deeper into BAIC’s
cutting-edge automotive technologies and production prowess,
ultimately providing a more thorough understanding of the company’s
strengths and potential in the industry.

This collaboration between BAIC and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, not only demonstrates a strong commitment to the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Tajikistan but also vividly illustrates the concept of green transportation development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
