At the salon event, Wang Lei, Dean of the BAIC Group Research
Institute, discussed the concept of “Quality Equality” from the
perspective of R&D engineers, focusing on three aspects: smarter,
more energy-efficient, and safer”. Through a series of “highly resilient”
technologies, he explained how BAIC Group creates top-notch
products that cater to users’ most authentic needs.
At BAIC Group, “smarter” means making travel life

one of the first companies in the industry to integrate AI
large models into automobiles, with products like KAOLA
and ARCFOX αT5 possessing self-awareness, active learning,

The ARCFOX α-S Pioneer Edition has achieved the “world’s strongest”
L3-level intelligent driving and is one of the first models in the industry
to realize urban NOA functions. Recently, BAIC Group also
became one of the first enterprises in China to obtain an L3-level
autonomous driving public road test license. The eye-catching
BJ60 on-the-spot U-turn video at the salon showcased BAIC
Group’s core technology in intelligent chassis.
“More energy-efficient”
BAIC Group is leveraging technology to continuously
expand the attributes of new energy vehicles, enabling them to
“consume less and travel further and faster”.
Wang Lei cites the industry hot topic of “high-speed electric motors”
as an example. BAIC Group possesses the most comprehensive range of
electric motor models in China and can develop the highest-speed
motors in the industry.
However, instead of blindly pursuing higher speeds, the fifth-generation
motors maintain a single-motor assembly speed of 22,000 rpm while
increasing power density.
This allows the automobile to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds
and reduce energy consumption by more than 10%, letting consumers tangibly
experience the cost savings brought about by technological advancements.
Additionally, BAIC Group is the first to equip RMB sub-200,000 models with an 800 V high-voltage supercharging battery system, making supercharging-capable automobiles affordable for the average consumer.
