BAIC WINS 2022 WIND ESG BEST PRACTICES AWARD IN HONG KONG STOCK MARKET, RECEIVES AA RATING
In June, BAIC achieved remarkable success. After winning the "Most Valuable Automotive Company" award in the 7th Zhitong Financial Listed Companies Selection, the company has also received prestigious accolades in the capital market.
Recently, Wind, a well-known domestic capital market data and information service provider announced the list of "2022 Wind ESG Best Practice Listed Companies" covering all Hong Kong and A-share listed companies. BAIC (1958. HK) was honored with two awards: "Best Practice Award in the Hong Kong Stock Market" and "Best Practice Award in the Optional Consumer Sector of the Hong Kong Stock Market."
The company ranked among the top 20 in ESG factors among Hong Kong listed companies and the top 5 in the optional consumer industry of the Hong Kong stock market.
In Wind's ESG rating system, BAIC has been awarded the highest rating in the automotive industry for two consecutive years—an AA rating (currently, there are no AAA-rated companies in the automotive industry).
As a data and information service provider bridging China and global capital markets, Wind's ESG rating framework is based on international mainstream ESG evaluation standards while incorporating localized indicators that consider the ESG practices and regulatory policies of Chinese enterprises. It comprehensively reflects Chinese companies' ESG management practices and sustainable operating capabilities, enjoying high recognition within the industry.
Currently, the evaluation scope of this framework covers A-share and Hong Kong-listed companies, significant bond issuers, and domestic public funds. The list reveals that 2022 BAIC outperformed the industry average in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions, achieving higher scores in all three areas.
BAIC has consistently responded to the national "Dual Carbon" strategy, strictly adhered to the ESG disclosure requirements for listed companies, and continuously fulfilled its social responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise. The company comprehensively promotes its responsibilities and commitments in five major areas: ESG governance, green development, product responsibility, employee rights and welfare, and community public welfare. It has embarked on a distinctive "ESG development path" that aligns with industry standards.
Receiving the Wind awards affirms BAIC's continuous improvement in ESG capabilities, its commitment to corporate social responsibility, and its achievements. It also serves as motivation for us to continue our efforts in the future. Going forward, BAIC will accelerate the process of electrification and intelligent transformation, serving as a role model to support green economic development and the implementation of the "Dual Carbon" strategy.
