“CREATING SMILES FOR THE WORLD”: BAIC GROUP WAS SELECTED AS ONE OF THE "OUTSTANDING CASES OF NONPROFIT ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IN 2022"

On November 28th, BAIC GROUP was selected as one of the "Outstanding Cases of Nonprofit Environmental Protection in Automotive Industry in 2022". In 2022, BAIC GROUP renewed “BAIC Sunflower”, a concept representing the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, and “creating smiles for the world”, its slogan for green development. With the support of 35 million customers, BAIC GROUP is contributing to a greener future with its environmental-friendly and low-carbon-footprint products, eco-conscious services covering every stage of BAIC products’ life cycles and active participation in public projects for better environmental welfare.

At an online conference held on June 15th, 2022, BAIC GROUP unveiled the plan of “BLUE”, a drive to realize its goal of carbon peak and neutrality: The company will fully embrace the transition to new energy and automotive Internet of Things (IoT), while introducing a whole array of low-carbon passenger and commercial vehicles, in order to make its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions peak by 2025, and reach net zero in its products and carbon neutrality by 2050. To achieve that, BAIC GROUP will focus its efforts on four fronts: its products, technologies to reduce GHG emissions, the manufacturing process; and the automaking industry.

During the Beijing Winter Olympics in February 2022, BAIC GROUP supplied 330 BAIC EU7 all-electric vehicles and 515 Foton AUV hydrogen buses, which were included in the Olympics fleet, to provide safe and comfortable low-carbon mobility services for visitors from all over the world. Later in the Paralympic Winter Games, 40 Foton AUV buses were revamped into barrier-free vehicles to accommodate athletes with disabilities. BAIC GROUP, a product and technical service provider for the Games, contributed 765.89 tonnes in carbon reduction to the Winter Games and became the first automaker to be granted a carbon neutrality certificate during the event.
